Switching from Flabs to HealthFlow

If your lab is running on Flabs (FlabsLIS) and weighing a move, here is an honest look at what actually changes: what you leave behind, what you gain, and how the migration itself works, with every claim about Flabs dated and sourced to their own public pages, exactly as on our full comparison.

In short

Flabs has built a genuinely large, low-friction funnel for Indian labs: a full first month for ₹1, a free app for referring doctors, and hundreds of educational pages. What labs switching to HealthFlow are usually chasing is what happens after the trial: a Pay-Run that actually settles doctor and centre commissions rather than only reporting them, one published pricing page instead of a 404 and a sales call, and month-to-month terms with no lock-in. If your lab has outgrown Flabs's free tracking app and wants an actual settlement run (or wants your reports and WhatsApp delivery fully under your own lab's brand), this page walks through the switch.

What you are leaving behind

None of this is a knock on Flabs as a product: see our full, honest line-by-line comparison for where Flabs genuinely has the edge. But labs that reach out to us from Flabs usually name the same few gaps, each dated to July 2026 and sourced to flabslis.com:

  • A commission tracker, not a settlement run. Flabs's Doctor Referral App gives referring doctors a free app that shows "Commission Reports" and live report status, a real visibility tool. We could not find, on their public site, a description of the other half of the job: an actual disbursement run that pays each doctor, consultant, collection centre and outside lab what they are owed, in one pass.
  • No standalone pricing page. As of July 2026, flabslis.com/pricing returns a 404. Prices surface only inside the ₹1-trial /flabs-lite page (plans "starting at ₹500/month") and inside Flabs's own /compare pages, meaning the full tier ladder is not one page you can check yourself before talking to sales.
  • A trial offer and a refund policy that do not obviously line up. Flabs's /flabs-lite page offers a full first month for ₹1 with "cancel anytime" language, but flabslis.com/cancellation-refund-policy (dated October 2023 on the page itself) states "No cancellations & Refunds are entertained," with no trial carve-out shown on that page.
  • Branded templates, not a fully white-labeled patient experience. Flabs advertises customizable report logos, letterheads and layouts. We could not verify, on their public site, a fully white-labeled patient-facing WhatsApp sender number, QR landing page or custom domain: the branding we could confirm stops at the report template.
  • WhatsApp as one of several channels, not the default. Flabs's FAQ describes reports shared via "WhatsApp, email, secure downloads and portals," and its own /compare/flabs-vs-labsmart page lists "WhatsApp API" as an addition on the ₹1,000/mo Leader tier rather than the ₹500/mo entry tier we found referenced.

Every one of these points is reused from our HealthFlow vs Flabs comparison, which also names Flabs's genuine strengths. See below.

What you gain by switching

  • A Pay-Run that actually settles. One run computes and clears what every doctor, consultant, collection centre and outside lab is owed, with a WhatsApp payslip, a printable statement and an Excel export, on plans above the entry plan.
  • WhatsApp delivery from your own lab's number. Reports and bills go out from a dedicated WhatsApp number set up for your lab, tracked sent → delivered → read, with opt-outs honored automatically: see how WhatsApp report delivery works.
  • Full white-label branding. Every report, bill, WhatsApp message and QR landing page carries your lab's own brand, on plans above the entry plan, not just the report template.
  • A referring-doctor portal. Referring doctors log in to see the reports and referral activity of the patients they referred, on plans above the entry plan.
  • One published pricing page, no sales call required. Every plan (from ₹399/mo up to ₹1,999/mo across Clinic and Diagnostics plans) is listed on one page.
  • A 10-day free trial, no onboarding fee, no lock-in. Month-to-month throughout: cancel any time, on terms stated plainly up front.

How the migration actually works

Switching off Flabs is not a blank-slate setup: it is built around the data and rules your lab already has, most of which live in Flabs today:

  • Onboarding builds your catalogue from what you already have. Your test catalogue, reference ranges, price list, doctor list and commission rules are set up from your existing Flabs exports, rate card and files, not a generic template you configure from scratch.
  • Full-history data migration is available from Rs 9,999. If you want your past patient and report history searchable inside HealthFlow, that is a scoped, paid step (optional, priced by how much history you want carried over).
  • A parallel run before go-live. Most labs run HealthFlow and Flabs side by side for a short window, checking that bills, reports and doctor commissions match, before switching over fully.
  • Go-live on your terms. Once the parallel run checks out, you move billing and report delivery to HealthFlow: there is no forced cutover date and no downtime window, in keeping with our guide to switching lab software without downtime.

For the fuller mechanics of exporting from an existing system, running a parallel period and cutting over, see our lab software migration checklist.

Is Flabs ever the better choice?

Yes, in specific cases, and it would be dishonest to pretend otherwise. As of July 2026, Flabs has a genuine edge for a lab that has not yet committed to any software: a full first month for ₹1 is a lower-friction way to try a system than our 10-day free trial, its free doctor-facing app gives referring doctors their own login at no cost (HealthFlow's Pay-Run settles the payout but does not currently give doctors a standalone self-serve app), and its roughly 410-post blog and free tools like an eGFR calculator are a larger public content library than we currently publish. If your lab is brand-new to software, values the lowest possible entry cost above a settlement run, or wants that doctor app specifically, Flabs's offer is worth taking seriously on its own terms. Labs that switch to us are usually the ones that have already outgrown a tracking-only view of referral commissions and want the run that actually pays people.

Frequently asked questions

Will switching from Flabs mean losing our report history?

Not if you want it kept. Most labs start billing on HealthFlow immediately and leave their Flabs history in place as an archive. If you want your past patient and report history searchable inside HealthFlow alongside new records, full-history data migration is available from Rs 9,999, scoped to how far back you want it to go.

Does Flabs lock labs in with a contract, and will that make switching harder?

As of July 2026, flabslis.com does not publish a standalone pricing page (/pricing 404s), and its cancellation-and-refund policy (dated October 2023 on the page itself) states plainly that no cancellations or refunds are entertained, with no carve-out shown for the ₹1 trial month. We cannot speak to any private contract terms your lab signed with Flabs; check your own agreement before giving notice. What we can tell you about HealthFlow: it is month-to-month, with no lock-in and no onboarding fee, so once your data is where you want it, walking away costs nothing extra.

How long does the switch from Flabs actually take?

Onboarding sets up your test catalogue, reference ranges, price list, doctor list and commission rules from your existing Flabs exports, rate card and files, not a generic template. Most labs run HealthFlow and Flabs in parallel for a short window, confirm bills and reports match, then go live. If you also want full historical data carried over, that is a separate paid step (from Rs 9,999) that can run alongside the parallel period rather than blocking it.
