These are commonly cited standard ranges for non-pregnant adults, shown for general reference. Children, teenagers, older adults and pregnancy can have different accepted ranges: the range printed on your own lab report is the one that applies to you.

Questions
What is a normal TSH level?
For most non-pregnant adults, labs treat roughly 0.4 to 4.0 mIU/L as the standard reference range for TSH (thyroid-stimulating hormone). The exact cutoffs printed on your report can differ a little by lab and testing method, so the range on your own report is the one that applies to your result, not a number from the internet.
What does a high or low TSH mean?
TSH, T3 and T4 are read together, alongside symptoms and sometimes antibody tests, so a single flagged value does not by itself confirm a condition. This tool only compares your number to a standard range and shows Low, Normal or High. It is general information, not a diagnosis: any flagged result should go to your doctor for interpretation.
Do TSH ranges change with age or in pregnancy?
Yes. Some labs use a slightly wider accepted range in adults over 60, and pediatric ranges for children and teenagers differ from the adult range and shift with exact age. Pregnancy has its own trimester-specific TSH range, usually lower than the standard adult range. This checker does not calculate those adjusted ranges: it flags against the standard adult range only, and your lab report should state clearly if a different range was used.
