Clinic + lab, one record
Your clinic and your lab shouldn't treat the same patient like two strangers.
Front desk in one system, lab counter in another - and the same patient re-registered twice, with dues and history split across both. HealthFlow gives your clinic and your diagnostic lab one shared patient record: the same person, the same history, the same dues, seen from either counter.
In short
Most clinics with an in-house or partner lab run two systems that don't talk to each other: a front-desk register and a separate lab system. The same patient ends up registered twice, with dues and history split down the middle. HealthFlow uses one patient record for both counters - a patient billed at the clinic and a patient billed at the lab are the same profile, with a single combined history, a single dues balance, and reports that show up wherever that patient is next seen.
The problem
Two counters, two systems, one confused patient.
A patient sees the doctor, gets sent for a blood test, and walks to the lab counter - where, on most software, they're a stranger again: name re-typed, history unknown, dues tracked separately from what they owe the clinic.
- Re-registration at the lab counter for a patient who already checked in at the clinic
- Clinic dues and lab dues tracked in two places, so nobody sees the true balance a patient owes
- A report the lab produced isn't visible from the clinic side, and vice versa
One record
One patient record. Both counters read and write to it.
On HealthFlow, a patient registered at the clinic front desk is the same record the lab counter sees - not a synced copy, the same profile. History, dues and reports accumulate in one place regardless of which counter the patient walked up to.
- One registration covers the clinic visit and any lab test that follows it
- One combined dues balance across clinic bills and lab bills - no split ledgers
- A report generated at the lab counter is visible from the clinic side the moment it's finalized
Built on the same record
The rest of your front desk runs on that same record.
The shared record isn't a bolt-on report - it's the foundation the rest of your clinic runs on: the queue, the billing, the prescription pad and the doctor commissions all read from the one patient profile.
- OP queue at the front desk: waiting → in-consultation → done, against that same patient
- A return visit inside 7 days is auto-detected on that record and isn't re-billed
- Sequential, fiscal-year bill numbering and every rupee stored as integer paise, clinic and lab alike
Questions
Is this an EHR or EMR?
No. HealthFlow isn't a general electronic health record system - it's a shared patient record purpose-built for a clinic that also runs (or works with) a diagnostic lab. The same patient profile - identity, visit history, dues and reports - is visible from both the clinic front desk and the lab counter, so the two sides of your business stop being two disconnected systems.
Does this only work if the lab is inside my clinic?
It's built for exactly that setup - a clinic with an in-house or closely partnered diagnostic lab on the same HealthFlow account. A patient registered at your clinic counter is the same patient record your lab counter sees: one registration, one dues balance, one history, instead of re-entering the same person twice.
What exactly is shared between the clinic and the lab?
Patient identity and registration, visit and billing history, outstanding dues, and diagnostic reports are all part of the one shared record. Both counters bill against the same patient, so a patient walking from the doctor's room to the lab counter (or back) is recognised instantly, with nothing to look up or re-key.
